Roham and Sam Gharegozlou founded Axiom Zen in Vancouver in 2012, with the idea that the right shape for an early-stage company was not a single-product startup but a venture studio: a small group of people who could spin up products, ship them, and let the ones with traction become independent companies.

ZenHub came out of that studio. So did Routific. So did, in 2017, CryptoKitties, the cultural artifact that broke Ethereum and seeded the ERC-721 standard, co-authored by Dieter Shirley. In 2018, Dapper Labs spun off from Axiom Zen with $15M from Union Square Ventures and Andreessen Horowitz to build what was then a new question: could you make digital ownership feel real to people who didn't come from crypto?

By 2020 we had launched NBA Top Shot. By 2021 it had crossed a billion in marketplace volume and we'd raised a $305M Series D at $7.6B. We launched NFL ALL DAY in 2021 and Disney Pinnacle in 2025. We built Flow when Ethereum couldn't scale CryptoKitties. We launched Peak Money in 2025 because the next generation isn't served by the savings tools their parents had.

Through the 2022–2023 bear market, the speculative users left and the collectors stayed. That's product-market fit. Not the vanity-metric version where the chart goes up during a bull market, but the version where people keep using your product when everything around it is falling apart.

In April 2026, Flow Foundation merged into Dapper Labs. The company restructured around five units, built the Pantheon (the agent fleet that runs alongside us), and rebuilt itself as an intelligence-native operation. Block, Stripe, Shopify, and Airbnb were the references; the goal was to be a company that ships at the leverage of an org three times its size, with ninety people and the agents we've graduated.

Through it all, the belief has compounded: people will own their data, digital assets, and online identities irrevocably; creators will build for their communities without platform risk; everyday digital lives will rely on open protocols rather than closed monopolies. That's what we've been building for fourteen years. That's what we'll be building for the next fourteen.
